Endometriosis and Homeopathy

The endometrium is the tissue that lines the inside of the uterus.  The tissue usually grows and thickens under the influence of hormones and is shed during menstruation each month.  In endometriosis, the tissue is found growing in other places other that the uterus.  The tissue might be found growing in the ovaries, fallopian tubes on the back of the uterus, on the intestines, the bladder or the rectum.  The tissue acts as it would if it were in the uterus and bleeds during menstruation.

Symptoms of endometriosis include pelvic pain which may extend to the legs or back, painful period pains, heavy bleeding, rectal pain and sometimes bleeding from the rectum or bladder.   Other symptoms resulting from this include weakness, extreme tiredness, anxiety and sometimes depression.  Infertility can often occur.

Homeopathic Treatment

Homeopathic remedies are found which match the whole symptom picture.  This means that several patients diagnosed with endometriosis will have different remedies prescribed because they will experience the symptoms differently.  They work by helping your own self healing mechanism to reboot, adjusting to correct the imbalances that are occurring.  The remedies help the body absorb the scar tissues and optimise health throughout the body, reducing inflammation and resetting the balance of your body preventing further progression of the disease.
